I draw a lot. I was born in 1970 in Gävle, Sweden, where I started drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon in my hand (they say). I grew up in Umeå further up north, where I kept drawing and painting but thinking that I couldn´t do anything useful with these skills. I studied Maths and Natural science and language instead, like a good girl. In my early twenties I couldn´t help myself – I went to art school for one year to see what it was like, and after that I was doomed to leave Science, History and French language behind and keep going with the artsy stuff – it felt like coming home. I kept at it, mixing art classes with University studies and work. In 1996, I moved to Stockholm, and eventually went to Konstfack (University College of Arts, Crafts and Design) for the Art Teacher Education Program. Now I work in a school south of Stockholm, teaching art, design, film-making, photography, computer graphics and webdesign (i.e. all the fun stuff) to kids between 15 and 19. In my spare time I do pretty much the same things, but without the teaching. Oh, and sometimes I draw. (http://www.ninajohansson.se/about/)
